Purchasing Wraps

How do I go about purchasing a wrap?

Wraps can be purchased any of the following ways:

  1.   Online

  2.   Trunk Shows

  3.   Wrap Parties

  4.   Expos & Festivals

  5.   By Appointment

Given that all wraps are one-of-a-kind and we have high turnover, we do not currently offer them online.  However, if you are looking for a particular color or pattern, let us know - we’d be happy to help find the one you’re looking for!

I like one of the wraps on your website.  How do I purchase it?

A few of the images you see on the website are currently in stock so contact us if you’d like to snag it before it’s gone!

Custom Orders

Can I purchase multiples of the same wrap?

All wraps are one-of-a-kind and constructed from vintage saris, so unfortunately that isn’t possible.

Exchanges & Returns

Can I exchange my wrap for a different one?

Exchanges must be made within 14 days of purchase and only if the Wrap is in good condition and the tags are still attached.

You must present your receipt and the sales representative completing the exchange will examine the Wrap and make the decision if the the exchange will be allowed.

Exchanges must be for a Wrap of equal or greater value and the difference in price will be paid at the time of the exchange.  If you exchange for a Wrap of lesser value, you will be issued a credit that can be applied to future purchases.  This credit will be good for one year from date of issue.

If you aren’t sure how to wear your wrap, come to a Wrap Party and we’ll teach you how to wear it and what to wear it with!  We are working on video instructions . . . stay tuned!

Can I return my wrap for a refund?

Sorry - all sales are final.  But let us know if there’s something about the wrap you need help with!  Perhaps we can be of assistance so that you get the full value of your wrap.  Also, come to one of our Wrap Parties, and we’ll show you all of the amazing things your wrap can do that you may not even know about!

Color Variations and Spots

The original fabric is hand printed and the garment is hand sewn, so there may be some slight color variation, spots, worn patches, decorative stitching and loose thread.  Remember, this is VINTAGE fabric, so they are not considered imperfect or a flawed.  Most of the areas of concern are small and/or unnoticeable in the context of the busy patterns on the Wraps.  You can also vary the way you wrap it so that the spot is hidden.

Caring for Your Wrap

How do I clean my wrap?

All wraps are made of 80-100% silk, and some are more delicate than others, so it’s important to be gentle with them.

To be on the safe side

We recommend hand-washing in cold water with Woolite or a mild detergent (preferably environmentally friendly, of course) and drying flat

For relatively durable silks

We have had success with washing our wraps in cold water on the delicate cycle of a conventional washing machine, then popping it into the dryer delicate cycle for 5 minutes (to release the wrinkles a bit) and drying flat.

Use your judgment and trust yourself.  Let us know if you have any questions.

Just Curious...

Why the name “Anahata”?

Our About Us page will give you the full answer!

Do you make the wraps yourselves?  Where do they come from?

Boy, do we wish we invented these wraps - because whoever did is brilliant

Our wraps come directly from manufacturers in India who make them out of discarded silk saris.  We love the fact that they are from recycled materials, as this means that we (and you) are playing our part in preserving the planet.

Frequently Asked Questions

How to choose a Wrap

How do I know what size to buy?

The Wraps come in 2 Sizes and 3 Lengths.

Regular Wraps fit women who normally wear sizes 0-16.

They are 48” in width and come in all 3 Lengths:

Short (20”-24”)

Medium (26”-30”)

Long (34”-36”)

Plus Wraps fit women who normally wear sizes 16 and up. (Although some women who wear a size 10 have bought Plus Wraps because they just loved the fabric so much! It just overlapped a little more on them.)

Plus Wraps are 60” in width and come in 1 Length:

Long (34”-36”)

How do I know what length to get?

This depends on how you plan to wear your Wrap and how tall you are.

You can wrap ALL of the Wraps in ALL of the different ways shown on our instruction sheet, but you will get different looks with the different lengths.  For example the Wrap you see to the right is Long so it is a dress when wrapped this way, but a Short one wrapped the same way would be a top that you can wear with leggings, jeans or a skirt.

Generally the Short Wraps will work best as tops, short skirts (20”-24” long) or shawls.  You wouldn’t make a dress out of a short one unless you were putting it on a little girl.

The Medium Length Wraps are probably the most versatile and will work as skirts (26”-30” long), shorter dresses, tops and shawls.  However, if you are over 5’10” you might want to stick with the Long Wraps.

Long Wraps can work as skirts (34”-36” long), longer dresses and sometimes a shawl depending on how long your arms are and how much extra flowy material you want.

What I usually tell women is to just look for the fabric they like and then we can show you some ways to wrap it that will look good with your body type.  If you know for sure that you like shorter skirts or you only want to wear your Wrap as a top, then you can stick with Short or Medium.  If you know that you like long, flowing skirts or you mostly want to wear your wrap as a dress, then medium to long is your best bet.
